Solar energy is any type of energy generated by the sun. Solar energy can be harnessed directly or indirectly for human use. For instance, solar panels can mounted on a rooftop, harvest solar energy and convert it to electricity.
Wind energy the process by which the wind is used to generate mechanical power or electricity. Wind turbines convert the kinetic energy in the wind into mechanical power.
Hydro Power Energy: is a renewable source of energy that generates power by using a dam or diversion structure to alter the natural flow of a river or other body of water.
Objectives:
· To promote use of solar energy technology, e.g solar PV, Concentrated Solar Power(CSP), Solar Thermal Technology etc.
· To encourage utilization of wind resources for power generation and other activities like irrigation and water drilling applications.
· To map all wind and water resources.
· To encourage use of water resources to generate electricity at a small to large scale depending on the demand.
· The Public sector will participate in large, mini and micro-hydro, wind, solar and biomass power generation projects
